The bottling plant in Poland Spring is located next to the original source, where spring water bottling first began in 1845. From humble beginnings here of Maine, we have become a major local employer. Nearly 350 full-time and seasonal employees come from communities all across Maine to work at this bottling facility. Thanks to the more than 160 years of good stewardship of Maine’s abundant and renewable spring water resources, we continue the tradition of high quality that people have come to expect from Poland Spring.
Poland Spring, both the company and the community, is rich in history. Today, Preservation Park and the Poland Spring Museum and Environmental Education Center welcome visitors from Maine and beyond who want to learn about our long tradition here and about Maine’s pristine water resources.
As an engaged community member, Poland Spring is focused on nurturing a respect for the environment in Maine’s next generation. To that end, we work with local schools to teach kids about ecology and sustainability through programs like Trout in the Classroom and through partnerships with organizations like Ferry Beach Ecology School and the Gulf of Maine Research Institute.
We are proud to be a major Maine employer and member of the Androscoggin County community. If you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
