I am pleased to report that we have made significant progress toward completion of our new Poland Spring water station along Route 302. We proceeded efficiently and expect to be fully operational by late spring - thanks to the outstanding team of Maine contractors we’ve assembled.
The water station project represents an investment of approximately $4.1 million dollars in Fryeburg and Denmark. Over the course of the construction phase, we employed more than 30 contractors with over 90% coming from local Maine communities.
Our dedicated and hard-working teams have completed the underground spring water pipeline running from the Denmark spring to the East Fryeburg station. We’ve also planted and naturally landscaped the land along much of the pipeline.
The water station building and driveway are finished, and working in coordination with the Maine DOT and the Town of Fryeburg, we also completed road and infrastructure improvements along Route 302.
I hope you’ll be pleased to learn that this project marks approximately 1000 acres of protected land in Fryeburg and Denmark, most of which will be open to the public.
Poland Spring has an office nearby, at 639 Main Street in Fryeburg. I try to be there every Thursday to meet with people, hear their questions and concerns, and keep up on issues in the community. Please stop by and say hello.
Thank you for helping us uphold our commitment to investing in local communities, listening carefully to our neighbors, and engaging in open and continuous dialogue.
