At Poland Spring, we are in a special position to provide clean, safe drinking water to people in times of need and natural disasters. Whether helping relief efforts in regions struck by hurricanes and floods, or working right here at home with the Maine Emergency Management Agency to address a public water issue – our dedicated employees are experts at delivering safe drinking water wherever it is needed most.
We’re proud to have the best Maine people producing and delivering safe, clean bottled water every day and when disaster strikes.
Following a water main break in early May, millions of greater Boston residents were left without safe, reliable drinking water. How Poland Spring responded:
- Hundreds of our dedicated Maine employees worked around the clock at all three of our local bottling facilities to respond to the crisis and increased water production.
- A half-million bottles were delivered to Boston within 24 hours, and an additional 1 million bottles within 48 hours.
- Area hospitals including the VA Medical Center in West Roxbury, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Newton-Wellesley Hospital received quick deliveries.
Within days of the earthquake in Haiti, Poland Spring’s committed employees, working closely with our partners at AmeriCares and the American Red Cross, moved over 70 truckloads of water – over 2 million bottles – from Maine to staging areas in Florida. From there, the water was moved by air and sea to the people of Haiti.
We supplied water to medical airlifts through the great work of Partners in Health and the National Organization for the Advancement of Haitians.
The suffering in Haiti, however, continues. Please support the vital and ongoing work of our non-profit partners by following the links below. We will do our part to keep clean Maine water flowing to those in need.
