Poland Spring Works for Maine
Giving Back

With over 165 years of history in Maine, Poland Spring is committed to Maine people and local communities. Our employees live in 125 Maine cities and towns and our operations support almost 800 local full time and seasonal jobs.

Giving back is a value we share with our employees, neighbors, friends and fellow citizens. Much more than words and promises, our actions in times of need (link to below), support of community programs (link to below), and educational initiatives (link to below) all reflect our Maine history, value, and commitment.

Action in times of need

Poland Spring Relief Efforts in Haiti

In times of emergencies, we're doing our part by providing bottled water when a community's water supplies are interrupted. Poland Spring's dedicated employees are experts at delivering safe drinking water wherever it is needed most during national and international emergencies such as Hurricane Katrina, the devastating earthquake in Haiti, or during Boston's recent water crisis.

Boston Water Crisis

Following a water main break in April, millions of greater Boston residents were left without safe, reliable drinking water; unable to wash their dishes, brush their teeth or drink from their own faucets.

Hundreds of Poland Spring's dedicated Maine employees worked around the clock at all three of our local bottling facilities to respond to the crisis. We brought in extra crews to help meet the demand and we were able to deliver nearly a half-million bottles to Boston within 24 hours and over 1 million bottles within 48 hours.

Poland Spring distributed bottled water to the area's most vulnerable populations, including hospitals, nursing homes and schools – bringing clean, safe drinking water to those in need quickly.

Community Giving

Poland Spring is committed to giving back and helping make Maine a better place to live and work. Through sponsorships, water donations and volunteering, we support important causes and organizations in communities across Maine.

Since 2000, Poland Spring has given Good Neighbor Grants totaling more than $3.3 million. In 2009 alone, Poland Spring gave more than $850,000 in grant money to 72 community partners. We also donate an annual average of $35,000 worth of bottled water to fire departments statewide, charitable organizations, causes and events with a special focus on the communities in which the people of Poland Spring live and work.

Educational Initiatives

Teaching Maine students about water, conservation and the environment ensures that the next generation will have the knowledge and skills they need to protect our water resources. Poland Spring has been a responsible steward of Maine's most precious natural resource — water — for more than 165 years.

We support numerous educational initiatives across Maine through both direct funding and hands on teaching through programs like Project Wet and Brook Buddies.
